  • HNC Childhood Practice

    This course is aimed at those who wish to gain employment as an early learning and childcare practitioner. This sector is expanding and demand for qualified early years staff is likely to remain high. The course will provide the student with a wide knowledge of the factors which influence children's care and their learning and development.

    Students will gain an understanding of the principles, values and legislation underpinning early years practice.

    The course also provides opportunities to relate theory to practice with a weekly practical placement (usually two days each week), which will give candidates the opportunity to see first-hand how early years settings operate.

  • HNC Cyber Security

    Cyber security is an ongoing key priority for individuals, businesses and government in order to protect against digital threats to personal data and business systems. Skills to help prevent attacks are in short supply and this course aims to equip students with the knowledge required to progress to a career in cyber security. 

    Students on this course will learn the principals of cyber resilience, from ethical hacking to data recovery.

  • HNC Fitness, Health and Exercise

    This course is designed to provide a theoretical and practical background into the field of fitness, health and exercise, whilst meeting the needs of the fitness and health industry.

    The course will provide a strong foundation for future employment in this sector within the community, as well as the private and corporate sectors.

    This course will also develop the applied competencies of fitness, health and exercise within areas such as physiology, exercise principles and fitness instruction.

  • HNC Healthcare Practice

    This HNC qualification will develop an appropriately skilled and qualified workforce that meets both future and current needs within the clinical roles.

    This is a nationally recognised qualification that incorporates the induction standards for Health Care Support Worker and supports the Code of Conduct for these workers.

    This qualification also facilitates transition onto Nursing Degree Programmes.  

  • HNC Healthcare Practice (NHS)

    This course is only available for application from current NHS Healthcare Support Workers in Forth Valley NHS.

    This course develops a range of skills and knowledge essential for a career in healthcare. Students will attend College two days a week while working. Students will be prepared for progression to university or continued employment within the health sector.
